On Tuesday 11th , Congress had passed a motion removing Zeidan with 124 votes in favour out of 138. While Zeidan left Libya despite a travel ban, the defence minister, Abdullah Thenny, has been appointed acting PM until a new PM is appointed. In a two hour pre-recorded interview, Zeidan said that he feared that the Islamist bloc consisting of the Ikhwan (the Brotherhood), the Wafa bloc and others would monopolize power in Libya and warned the Libyan voters against the Islamists at the next election. With regards to corruption or the misappropriation of public funds, Zeidan told the media he will return to Libya to clear his name when it is safe to do so.
